Grassroots Neighbourhood Fund now open for community projects in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire County Council’s new Grassroots Neighbourhood Fund offers grants of £250–£5,000 to local projects supporting health, wellbeing and community connection. Applications are open until March 2027.

Published: 28 October 2025

Gloucestershire County Council has launched a new funding initiative — the Grassroots Neighbourhood Fund — designed to empower local communities to deliver small-scale projects that make a big difference.

Each of the county’s 55 councillors has been allocated £20,000 to distribute within their divisions over the two-year funding period. The scheme will run from October 2025 until March 2027, giving groups time to apply and deliver meaningful local initiatives.

The Fund aims to support projects that:

  • Promote health and wellbeing

  • Encourage community connection and inclusion

  • Help to reduce health inequalities across Gloucestershire

Eligible community organisations, charities, and volunteer groups can apply for grants between £250 and £5,000.

In North Nibley, applications will be considered by County Councillor Linda Cohen, who will work with local groups to ensure funding reaches the projects that benefit residents most.

Community groups are encouraged to begin planning now. Application guidance and forms will be available through Gloucestershire County Council’s website, and support sessions will be offered to help applicants prepare strong proposals.

For more information about eligibility, criteria, and how to apply, visit the Gloucestershire County Council website or contact Cllr Linda Cohen directly.
