Could you help make someone’s day?
We’re looking for friendly, compassionate volunteers to join our Befriending Project, which is now an ongoing part of what we offer from The Keepers.
There are people in our area who are housebound and unable to access activities at The Keepers or elsewhere. As a befriender, you can help someone feel more connected by visiting them once a week for an hour, sharing companionship over a cup of tea.
What’s Involved?
-
Visit once a week on a Thursday for an hour (10-11, 11-12 or 12-1). This is to allow us to be available to support you in the event you need to contact us during the visit.
-
Commit to 6 months (occasional absences are completely fine!)
We will provide training and ongoing support for the role.
The initial training will be 4 hours (including lunch). Our next training date is Thursday 13th March 12-4pm. (If you are interested but cannot make this date, or would like to become a befriending volunteer but just cant make Thursdays, please let us know).
Please see the attached leaflet. (It is a tri-fold leaflet in real life so that’s why it may look a bit odd as an attachment).
Interested?
Simply reply to this email, give us a call, or drop by The Keepers to learn more.
If this isn’t the right opportunity for you, please send it on to someone it may interest
All the best,
Gail
