Pre-Application Planning Advice from Stroud District Council
If you are not sure whether planning permission is required for a project, or if you want to make sure that what you are proposing is appropriate, you can apply for pre-application planning advice.
Stroud District Council operates a paid service for providing informal advice and will let you know whether your proposals are acceptable, require alteration or are unacceptable. The benefit of undertaking pre-application advice is that allows you to test the planning system before you formally submit an application, and before significant cost are accrued. You will be given written feedback that comments on the relevant issues and planning policies.
The fees for preapplication advice depend on the size and nature of the proposals. You can just seek a written response or request a meeting on site. Additional fees are payable if input is required from specialist Officers, such as Conservation or Ecology.
