Local Government Reorganisation – Government Consultation

The Government is consulting on proposals to reorganise local government in Gloucestershire. North Nibley Parish Council will consider the matter at its March meeting. Residents are encouraged to review the proposals and respond before 26 March 2026.

The Government has launched a consultation on proposals for Local Government Reorganisation in Gloucestershire.

Three options have been submitted by the county’s principal councils:

  • Two unitary councils (east/west split)

  • Two unitary councils (Greater Gloucester and Gloucestershire Unitary)

  • One countywide unitary council

North Nibley Parish Council will consider the consultation at its March meeting.

The consultation runs until 26 March 2026. Residents can review the proposals and submit their views directly to the Government via the following link:
