Gloucestershire Libraries have launched the Library Challenge 2026, a free summer activity for children aged 3 years and over.

Running from 11 July to 12 September, the challenge encourages children to explore stories, complete activities and earn rewards while having fun at their local library.

This year’s challenge follows a time-travelling adventure through six themed zones:

• Daring Dreamers
• Lost Worlds and Hidden Treasures
• Courageous Quests
• Big Stories Small Island
• Perilous Past
• Epic Myths and Fables

Activities can be completed individually, with friends, siblings or adults, and can be presented through writing, drawing, photographs or creative projects.

Children can collect activity sheets from participating Gloucestershire libraries and complete challenges throughout the summer holidays.
