Local Government Reorganisation – “Greater Gloucester” Proposal

Gloucester City Council are consulting on a “Greater Gloucester” proposal to create two unitary authorities for the county. Residents are invited to attend upcoming engagement events to learn more and share views.

Gloucester City Council are preparing a proposal for Local Government Reorganisation, known as the “Greater Gloucester” model. The proposal outlines the creation of two unitary authorities – one being an expanded Gloucester City and the other covering the rest of Gloucestershire.

To explain the proposal and gather feedback, Gloucester City Council are holding two in-person engagement events. Residents are invited to attend to discuss Local Government Reorganisation, devolution, and the future of council services in Gloucestershire.
